Installing Sound Soap Stand Alone As A Plugin To Creator 2009

bjcbrandt

Question

I bought Creator 2009 and now have bought Sound Soap stand alone. When I try to add it as a VST it tries, but then says it has to shut down Sound Editor. I have tried putting BIAS SoundSoap.dll in /roxio creator 2009/5.0/plugins and also /roxio creator 2009/audiocore, but have the same result. Any help as to what is going wrong?

Thanks for your time and help.

You cannot use Sound Soap as a plug in. I tried long ago (2 versions.) and learned the hard way.

From Bias: "This cross-platform, multi-format powerhouse includes Audio Units, RTAS/AudioSuite, and VST plug-in formats, so SoundSoap can be used within your favorite compatible editing environment. For those users whose editing applications don't support plug-ins, a stand-alone application is included as well."

You may want to contact Bias to see if they can offer any further information on using it as a plug-in or perhaps getting a refund.

Thanks for your reply and info. I have been playing with Soundsoap and find that it works very well as a standalone and changes the actual .wav file instead of putting a layer over it as Creator 2009 and other programs do. So, after using Soundsoap you import the noise reduced .wav file into Creator 2009 and edit it as you would do normally adding tracks, maximizing volume, etc. These actions do not, however, change the .wav file, but add "layers" to achieve the end result and can only be changed in Creator 2009. When you are finished with the editing you can then burn to a CD or ISO file. I am very pleased with this arrangement.
