Rossco Posted April 14, 2009 Report Share Posted April 14, 2009 I purchased MyDVD today - downloaded it into my computer (Dell XPS M1710 with windows XP) and when I restarted the computer I got a blue screen - restarted in safe mode and tried to unistall the software and got setup encountered an error during installation Error code: 04C7 - Anyone know how I can fix this? Which version of MyDVD? From the Roxio site or eslewhere? If elsewhere, what did you pay for it? Did you upgrade to a video card or are you using the on-board chip? Have you tried to update the drivers for the video card. Iy is pretty old and may not be up to date. Usually this is not a problem with installation but who knows. First check for viruses and malware. Then: Try doing a clean uninstall from the safe mode. After you get rid of everything, reboot and re-install. Instructions here.
