Running Vhs To Dvd

I installed vhs to dvd on my computer running Win XP Pro. My computer has all the min required hardware and software. It appears program was successfully installed yet when I try to run it I get a window that says Roxio creator has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. Does anyone have an idea why and how to correct?

Uninstalled vhs to dvd software, when I tried to reinstall I got a message "error code 000D" and installation ends. Have search computer for any old files left over from originnal install and can't find anything. Ran registry mechanic and did not find any problems. I have all the latest Win XP upgrades.
