Creator 2009 Won't Run After Installation

markfagan

Question

I installed Creator 2009 on my notebook (3 Gb RAM, 320 GB HD, Windows Vista Home, Intel Centrino Core Duo) after uninstalling Creator 10. The install was interrupted and rolled back. I restarted the install from scratch and finished and rebooted. When I click on the Creator 2009 icon or go to the program menu and click on "Roxio Creator 2009 Special Edition" all i get is the Roxio logo splash and then nothing else happens. I can access some of the individual programs, but not the main system, even if i go to RUN and directly to the file name on the disk.

I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling 2009 (which makes 3 installs so far). Same result.

How can I get this software to work reliably? This has been a probelm since Creator 10.

You need to use the "Clean Install" to get it squared away most likely. Best to go thru both the Creator 2009 and EMC 10 articles to make sure you remove all remnants of both.

After you install the software, download and install Service Pack 3.

I did the Service Pack 3 update after the install. No luck with that either.

This has been a problem with the Creator series since 10, if not earlier. I have had to reinstall this software so many times I'm rapidly losing patience with it. I'd go back to Creator 8 if it would run on Vista. The software is NOT reliable.
