Cd-text

Question

Whilst there is no problem burning cd-text onto an audio cd with Toast 8, neither Toast 9 or 10 will tag this information. I have spent some time trying out various configurations but with no luck.

Is this a known problem?

No, cd-text is definitely not there as 'CD-text to CD-info' fails and I have run 'drutil cdtext' from command line and it shows nothing when burned with Toast 9 or 10 but always with 8.

Thanks for your reply

There i an "Add CD-Text" box at the bottom left corner of Toast when audio CD is selected as the format. Is it checked on? I have not had a problem with Toast 9 and 10 burning CD Text. This is very odd.

My guess is the CD Text is there on the disc. Insert one of the burned CDs and choose Disc Info from the Recorder menu in Toast. You should see the CD Text info there. You also should see it by dragging the tracks from the CD to the Audio window with Audio CD selected as the format.

Macs don't read CD Text so it won't show in the Finder or in iTunes. I have posted to several other topics recently on this issue. You can go to dougscripts.com and download the CD Text to cdinfo applescript to use within iTunes to transfer CD Text to your Mac's cdinfo database file.
