Runtime Error

Kryp

Question

I'm hoping someone can help me out with this problem. I finally got this program installed, but when I click on capture video I get a visual c++ runtime library "runtime error". Has anyone else experienced this same problem?

Hi Kryp and DRW1 -

The most common solutions ot capture errors can be found in this article:

Resolving common capture issues with the Roxio Video Capture USB device

I'd also recommend updating your video card drivers as well.

Let me know how it goes. Be sure to do all the steps as C++ Runtime can have a lot of variables and doesn't always have a specific pointer to the failure. But if it does, please include the full error code in this thread so we can take a look at it.

Thanks,

Jon

Thank you for the response. I tried everything you recommended. I did the clean install and I stil did not work. All of my drivers are up to date and my computer meets all of the requirements. The runtime error is R6025 - pure virtual function call. The plug and burn option does not work either. When I click on that i get 1. Proxy manager has encountered a problem and needs to close and 2. RoxWizardLauncher Module has encountered a problem and needs to close. Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thank,

It’s not pretty but it works…

Format C:\

Actually, what I do in a case like this is buy a new HD and start fresh.

Once all is well, I attach the old drive as a secondary and transfer files. (I am doing a laptop on my desk right now to confirm a drive problem)

The one thing I wanted to avoid doing.

In case anyone is interested, I got the program to work. Roxio support came through. They suggested I copy the disc to my hard drive and try installing it from there. That solved the problem. I'm updating in case someone has had a similar problem. Thanks to all that responded.

I am having the same issue. I totally uninstalled, then reinstalled the software, and still get the same "Capture Video" runtime error. I was able to burn a video onto a DVD. But when i try to edit that video, I get runtime errors. WIN XP professional, SP3, Direct X 9 and .net updated recently. I just think Roxio really blew it with VHS to DVD. The software is not ready for prime time.
