Choppy Picture With Mydvd 10

finkrod

Question

Bear with me on this as I'm not exactly what you'd call 'tech savy'. I am using MyDVD 10 premier, but whenever I try to burn a DVD, or even view the files in preview, the picture is all screwy. At first the picture freezes, then it proceeds but with verticle lines of the frozen first image still on screen. I'm a total novice with this program, so please be gentle =)

Sounds like you are having the same problems me. I have ask for help but no reply. The time limit for a refund is closely approaching. My program screws up the picture just shortly after trying to view the film in timeline or story book mode. The picture you are viewing in Videowave starts when you hit play and then is almost immediately covered with a screen effect resembling an earlier frame of the movie in screen format. I have tried everything to get rid of it. When trying to remove all effects, the machine tells me there are no effects in play. So , I removed & reinstalled entire program, updated to the next version thru Roxio, no difference. I have lost many hours of editing time due to problem. I even sent Roxio a picture showing the mixed up picture. Still no help! I have basically given up and lost numerous hours trying to resolve. As I said, no reply from Roxio with help. By chance, I learned that my computer came with a simple Windows program for editing film that I didn't even know I had. (I'm a newbe too) Since finding that, I have almost completed my project using it while awaiting Roxio to help. Due to this problem, I have decided to ask for refund as 30 day refund option is running out. Get this, the online company that Roxio uses to sell their programs claims to have no record of my purchase! However, I have my PayPal receipt. I am asking for refund thru PayPal. If you find out how to resolve this problem please let me know. This seems impossible for a newbe to resolve!

I am never going to purchase another Roxio product. I've tried several times now to contact technical support with no luck. I've submitted tickets that have been closed out with no reply. It's times like this I wish companies could get feedback ratings like sellers do on Ebay. F------- >=(

Well, I guess Roxios technical support is to have this forum and leave us all to hash it out for ourselves. Good times.

Sorry to hear of your problem. It is very similar if not the same that was happening to mine. I finally got my money back but removing the program from my computer screwed up my computer. Dell is telling me that the bug left by the program will require them to repair a Registry error for a whopping $129. Thats about 4 times more than I paid for MyDVD10 Premier. I thought it was supposed to be soooo EASY a program to run. I was learning it slowly it was so massive but it suddenly one day it screwed up just like yours. I lost many hours of editing work that I couldn't get the freeze frame screen to disappear. It screwed up my entire film. You are right, no tickets filed were ever answered and eventually they emailed me claiming that they answered me and since they never heard back they closed the ticket. I looked up their answer and it was the same message they sent me claiming that I never answered them back so they assumed the problem was no more. That was far from true. I filed a claim with PayPal for a refund. Digital River, Roxio's middle man company, claimed they tried to refund my requested money but PayPal would not let them. PayPal said they never refused to allow them to return my money. Eventually, PayPal emailed them exactly how to refund my money. Then I got it after so much trouble. I am not happy. :angry2: You are right again, would you believe that this is apparently the only way to get help with this program????? No telephone support either. I won't buy from these folks again! <_< If I were you, I would not uninstall it from your machine as the same problem I am faced with might screw up your machine too.
