How To Access Subtitles

Al Gruber

Question

I am about to make a (Legal) copy of a tv show on dvr. When I save this on dvd I will get .vob/.ifo etc files. This show has closed captions style subtitles. Is there a way to get the subtitles as a separate file in creator 2009, or can you recommend another program. Better still, is there a way to get this as a text file in creator 2009 or another program?

Thanx

Al G

No, not that I know. Closed Captioning is encoded into the vertical blanking area of the TV signal. Don't know if this would be digitized or stripped out in the process.

I believe there is no way to add text subtitles in MyDVD either. You need other software for that.

Thanks, I'm not surprised.

Maybe somebody here knows of another program.
