Burning A Balanced Mp3 Cd

jchanmc

Question

G'day all,

I have a folder of MP3 with various loadness. How can I use Creator 2009 to normalize all the MP3 loudness and burn into a CD? Can I do it simultaneously or it has to seperate into 2 sessions i.e. 1st normalize all MP3 to approx same loudness and copy them into a folder then burn them as data files to CD?

Thanks all and have a nice day,

Jeff

Unfortunately, I think that the audio normalize or maximize is not available using those applications but it is available in Sound Editor (Edit Audio) (I could not find it). Normalize is available if you are burning an audio CD with Make Audio CD; the options are in the top right.

What you might want to do is to start with Sound Editor (Edit Audio) , add the music and then export either the track or the clip from there as mp3 (even though they may be mp3 to start with) . You will have the option to maximize.

If you are sure you want all the songs in the group that you've added, export the track and then add the track in Music Disc Creator or "Burn mp3 cd".

I have no idea why the applications make you do a two step process.

Thanks, by using the miximize option, what happened to those tracks that is already >90db will those be distorted or clipped? what's the actual function of maximizing?

Music Disc Creator will try if you click Normalize...

Probably not going to be perfect. But it might get closer.

Thanks Jim, when I open create music disc project and imporated all the MP3 files, I highlighted all files but I cannot find the normalize button. At what stage do I normalize all files?

Regards,

Jeff

I was bluffing - Audio is not my strong suite…

In Music Disc Creator there is a little wrench at the bottom left – Project Settings. Set “Maximize volume of each track” and try a test burn…

“Normalize” is in a different program (wasn’t at a PC that had Roxio on it first time). It is found in the Home app – Burn Audio CDs and under Options (upper right – hamer & wrench)

I suggest test burns on RW to make sure these will work for what you want. Post back and let us know what worked???
