Creator 2009 Install Fails At Cineplayer

rgregl

Question

I have tried 5 times to install Creator Ultimate 2009. I have followed the clean install instructions, I have turned off UAC, I have turned off McAffee, I have tried everythng I can think of. The install runs for 10 minutes, and after it gets to installing the Cineplayer and runs for 4 to 5 minutes, it changes to "rolling back the Cineplayer Codec Decoder" and starts uninstalling everything. What am I missing. By the way, the final message is tha the installation wizard was interrupted. I also looked for the .DLL files noted above , but they weren't there.

Dell XPS 1330, 4GB RAM , 250GB HD, Vista Business, McAffee, UAC off

Well, after 8 hours of trying every conceivable method to getr this install to work, it turns out the problem is a corrupted CP.exe file in the cineplayer dir on the install CD. Four calls to Roxio Support and finally one tech suggested that the install might run faster off of the hard drive. That when it became apparent that the file is corrupt. The install program never indicates a problem reading the file , it just starts rolling back the install. And then they tell me my only option is to take back the DVD to where I got it and get a new one. I just might switch to Nero or something else.

Why not have the store, where you purchased it, exchange it? Any reputable store will.

Dave: in his initial post he said it fails when reaching the CinePlayer install…

I am not convinced it is a disc but if he can get it replaced it will prove it one way or the other…

Like gpb suggests, many stores will exchange a faulty product.
