I'm experiencing something similar to that in another thread in that I have 2 movies in my project each with 4 chapters. I'd like the next chapter in order to play right after the 1st (prior) chapter has completed but it always returns to the main menu, the next chapter (or some subsequent chapter) needs to be selected before continuing to play.

 

The only reason I created chapters was if I wanted to watch a particular scene, then I could and I knew it would go back to main menu after that scene was complete. Is there a way to have multiple chapters in a project and just have them play straight through, start to finish?

That is the normal operation -- select and play one chaper and then play the movie to the end.

 

There may have been a setting change to have it work the way it is for you. If you can find out what you did because many people would like to have that option.

If control goes back to menu after playing a chapter then there is something wrong - once you start playing a chapter the movie will play to the end. The operation you describe is the behaviour for Titles.

In addition to what Walt said, consider yourself lucky. There have been a multitude of posts, from users who want to go back to the main menu, after playing one chapter. You seem to be the first person ever, to be able to do that.

 

I tried several times. I never got it to work that way.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear on what I'm trying to accomplish. When the selected chapter is played via any software driven program (Roxio, WMP etc) it plays straight through but when played on a normal DVD player after burning, only the chapter selected plays then it reverts back to the main menu for another chapter to be selected. I'd like know if there's a way when "chaptering" in EMC10 to select or change a setting that, when finalized, allows continuous playback from the starting point selected.

Yes, it's called Edit Chapters. Has always worked 100% for me. I'm like Walt. It sounds like you aren't creating chapters, but rather 'titles' on the main menu.

 

Chapters will NEVER be on the main menu. It's impossible to create a 'chapter' on the main menu. Any video that you add to the main menu is a 'title' or movie all by itself. The default action for these buttons is to return to the Main Menu after playing.

 

To create chapters for ONE of the movies, right mouse button click and 'Edit Chapters'. This creates marks the viewer can jump to and a SUBmenu for chapter buttons. When selecting a chapter button, the movie will play to the end of THAT movie.
