Cannot Load/import Avi Files

Deathgazer

Question

Alright, I have Roxio Creator 2009 Ultimate. I basically just want to burn some of the videos on my PC into a DVD (movie).

I go to Create a DVD, simple enough. It loads up MyDVD. When I try and import (clicking 'Add New Movie') an avi movie, it gives me this error.

I used another program to convert it to a .vob file, (which is time consuming and annoying) and MyDVD was able to import it.

Does Roxio not support avi files? Or is there something I'm not doing right here. Because I'd really rather not have to waste all my time converting

all my avi movies into .vob or .mp4 or other format's that work with MyDVD. If it makes any difference, my PC has no problem playing avi files, or

pretty much any video file.

In addition to what Jim said ...

video work takes lots of time especially the encoding to DVD compliant video (which are those vob files). The video you are using (most likely DivX) are not DVD standard and have to be converted which will take lots of time. You cannot simply take a avi file and burn it to a DVD and expect it to play on a DVD player. It does not work that awy  . What your PC can play and what a DVD player can play are are like comparing apples and oranges.

You heave to learn to be patient when doing video work

That is not MyDVD – it is MyDVD Express. – about as different as NotePad and Word, a toy compared to MyDVD.

Your source files are not valid, hence the red circle & slash. Could be copy protected too but that usually throws an error message when it is.

Where did you get these from and what made them?
