Creator 2009 Ultimate Installs Well But Won't Run

Did a clean install of Creator2009Ultimate on Windows XP Professional.

before Install uninstalled other Roxio, sonic products and MS.Net 3.5 framework.

also, deselected all other applications running at startup, from msconfig.

When clicking on the icon to run the application the following error occurred:

Roxio Creator has encountered a problem and needs to close.

A newer version of this software is available for download that addresses this problem.

Sonic Solutions recommends updating to take advantage of security and stability improvements.

Creator2009 service pack 3 says it cannot find the software.

What shall I try next?

Runnng windows Xp professional with sp3, IIS, SqlServer2005, .Net 3.5 framwork, visual studio2005, AVG.

Easy Media creator version 9 works fine. The task to install creator ultimate is as follows:

Do a clean explicit step by step install, by first removing previous versions of Roxio,Sonic software.

Use windows install clean up & finally edit the registry keys.

There seems not be an update for Ultimate version of Creator 2009.

It installs without a problem, but will not run.

It closes and sends an error report to microsoft, there must be a software conflict.

Creator 2009 service pack 3 will not upgrade Ultimate.

Have anyone else had similar problems. I have run out of opsions to try.

What do you mean in won't "upgrade Ultimate version of Creator 2009"? Details please...

 

You must own a valid copy of the full, retail version of Creator 2009.

If you did not purchase a retail copy, this update will not work for any other version of Easy Media Creator.

I bought a full version of Creator 2009 Ultimate from roxio online with exstended download.

Service pack 3 for Creator 2009 says it can not find revelent software installed.

Never had a problem with media creator version 9.

The ultimate version install fine with no errors, but will not run.

Any further ideas would be appreciated.

Try the clean install. Don't skip any steps.

Service pack 3 for Creator 2009 says it can not find revelent software installed.

If SP3 says it can't find the relevant software, then Creator 2009 has not installed properly. Lack of error messages from Creator's installer is no guarantee of a good install!

 

The SP3 installer checks for some features or registry entries of Creator 2009, and it apparently can't find them on your system.

 

SP3 will install on Creator 2009 Ultimate. I did it on mine a few minutes ago.

 

I would suggest you try the clean install again. Do it meticulously, and then apply SP3. Some users have reported having to do the clean install several times before it "takes".

This is far from a satisfactory situation, but if that is what it takes to get the software working . . .
