60hz Support? (recording From A Games Console)

Dragon029

Question

Sorry, I just want to ask a question before I buy, is the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD usb capture device capable of recording 60hz footage?

The reason I'm asking is because I was intending to use it to capture gameplay footage from an Xbox 360 and so I just wanted to know if it was compatible.

Some of my friend's have bought purpose built captures cards (Pinnacle products, not anything by Roxio) only to find out upon their first try that it wouldn't support 60hz and so they couldn't record footage of certain games like Halo 3.

Wouldn't that be breaking the copy protection on the game disc?

That is illegal to do in most parts of this world!

cd

Yes for some games but for most games published by Microsoft it's legal under their Game Content Usage Rules

I'm sure that other publishers have similar rules.

Besides that though, thanks for the feedback, I'll ask the Harvey Norman store here personally if I can return it under those circumstances.

Never heard of such a thing???

Product has been out for 6 months and nothing has been said.

Not ruling it out – so I suggest that you buy it from Roxio or a store that you know ahead of time will allow a return of it!

That way you will be out with a minimum of frustration and not a complete loss.
