Cineplayer Decoder Pack Missing ?

chrisfranceuk

Question

Hi. I have been waiting nearly a month for my CDs, so instead I got Roxio to send me a download link so that i can get on with my work.

At first everything was fine, dispite having a few issues with Quicktime not recognising the output h.264 files. Now I have another issue. No the software cannot find the cineplayer decoder pack??? I dont know what the hells going on with this software, but Ive had it one day and already im fed up with it. Can anyone explain why for no reason should the decoder pack disappear? Its converting files, but im not sure its doing it properly. Many thanks.

My guess is that the the program was installed (select one or more)

1) to a hard drive with malware,

2) to a fragmented hard drive,

3) with anti-virus on or just paused. or

4) something else was installed over the program that superseded the codec.

5) something was changed/moved/broken when trying to get the files played in Quicktime

OR a registry cleaner is seeing something in Roxio that it is deleting in error.

Are there any other decoder packs on your computer ? Remove them.

Download and run gspot (link) on the files; it will tell you if you have the correct codecs installed. If they are, then the issue may be with your Quicktime install.
