Ok i have Xp that is about seven years old bought C2009 new from best buy and it wont read in my drive, works in my laptop but wont run at all in this comp. Any suggestions?

Pretty cryptic post. If you computer is seven years old, it is highly doubtful that it will run the software. I am actually surprised that it would even install.

List the system specs of that computer.

man bruce I dont know my specs

2.53 ghz intel pentium 4 processor

512 mb ram

80 g hd

hp what else do you need to know? and wouldnt it give me an error in installation instead of not seeing the disc at all?

Ok, let's back up. Is the Creator 2009 that you have, on a DVD? Do you have a DVD reader or burner in your computer?

Also, depending on what video card/chip you have, in that computer, it may run the software, but it will be painfully slow. What video card/chip do you have in that computer?

yeah has DVD drive..and I dont know what video card I have I can deal with whatever issues it has once it installs, the problem is that nothing happens when I try and install it and when I got Start/run/e:\setup it tells me that the disk is corrupt and unable to be read, but when I place it in my laptop it auto runs....? I dont get it.

If you do have a DVD drive, then go to the manufacuter's website and get the latest firmware, and install it.

Does that drive see any DVD?

drive is fine with any other disc I own software or movie. disk is fine with only other computer.

Does Windows Explorer read the disc or is the problem only when you try to install?

disk doesnt read at all, when I try to start/run it I get a disk is not formatted error message. It tells me that the disk is corrupted or is in a format that windows cant read

j rudy,

You say the disc works in the laptop, correct?

You say other software and movie DVD's work in this DVD Drive, correct, just not the Roxio disc?

You say Windows Explorer "doesnt read at all when I try to start/run it I get a disk is not formatted error message."

Do you have other versions of Roxio installed? Do you have drag and drop 'packet writing software' installed?

Is your XP updated to SP2?

With the Roxio disc in the drive, if you open my computer and you right click, open, or right click explore, on the drive with the Roxio disc, what happens? Then try other software or movie disc's in that drive doing the my computer, right click open, or right click explore, what happens?

Please answer all the questions!

I am not convinced that you have a DVD drive. What is the make and model of that drive.
