Roxio Easy Vhs To Dvd

nettabreogr

Question

When I install the above software, after I have entered the CD codes I get the following message:

Easy VHS to DVD wizard was interupted just after is it says it is installing Direct X runtime files.

Then only option is to terminate installation. I have downloaded the USb drivers for this application and installed them. I still get the same message. I am getting incredibly frustrated. £40 for what????

Also when I look in Device Manager I see the following USB 2861 Device (!) then under properties I see "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver". But as stated I downloaded the device driver! I click re-install, it appears to have worked and then I get the same problem when trying to load the software.

You have yet to indicate that you have looked at the article or applied its’ solution. It has nothing to do MS.

Do you understand anything I have said? Your responses are unrelated to anything I have written…

I have read the solution. As indicated in it I have service pack 3 installed etc. I thought that was implied in my response(s) to you. Yes I do understand what you have said. I could respond in a like manner to you, but I am will not stoop to that ! I was appreciating your help, but just getting incredibly frustrated. I have subsequently searched the net for information on this product and I really wish I had done this before buying it. Reading the information out here in the UK I realise that I might have wasted my money! In all my years in computing I have never failed to load any software to any of my numerous home PC's that I have owned.

Thanks, that’s better, now I know where we are!

I propose this: We will remove any drivers for the device and check for the presence of a file then uninstall Easy V2D. After that, try the install.

If it still fails with an install interrupted, we will move to the Clean Install procedure.

Plan A:

Plug the device in and go into Device Manager and delete both entries for it under Sound video and game controllers. Remove the device.

Look for and delete a file called dsetup.dll in your C:\Windows\System32 folder. (just that one place/file - it may not be present)

Check in Add/Remove Programs for any Roxio entry and remove it.

Reboot

Insert the device and cancel any Windows attempt to do anything with it!!!

Insert the V2D disc and install the software.

Plan B: Clean Install - XP

The trick to Clean Install is to print it out so it is by your side and follow it step by step using the More or Less method. (Don't do More than it says and don't do Less!)

The Clean Install is from Creator 2009 but will work with V2D.

Your problem is ”interrupted”

Read the notes on that one.

I have all the latest Microsoft updates etc. My system automaticaly looks for updates every day. My system is running on:

MS Windows XP, Media Center Edition, Version 2002 Service pack 3. It still does the same, so what do I do now?

Rapidly coming to conclusion that this product is a total waste of space!! And still no rpely from Roxio support. What did I pay my £40 for!!!

Followed both Plan A and Plan B diligently (no more no less). Still have the same problem.

Plan C?
