Autoplay Issues With Creator 2009

rst2

Question

Hello,

I Recently bought Creator 2009 special edition 2009. I installed it and found that It disabled auto start on all devices with removable storage. (A little research shows that autoplay is capable of interfering with burning, thus it is disabled.) I removed the program to see if the uninstaller would fix what it broke, but no joy. Some time with Google suggested Tweak UI, and It definitely showed that autoplay had been disabled, but re-enabling it through Tweak UI didn't fix the problem.

I'm assuming that one or more registry keys need to be changed or one or more services need to be started, but I'm not sure which ones.

system is XP SP2

Thanks,

Ray

Edit: I did, of course, reboot after each stage

I Couldn't solve the problem, so I formated the machine. I'm in the process of trying to reinstall creator.

Make sure that:

1) You do not have the anti-virus or any other programs running during install and that

2) the program is one of the first things that go on the computer and then you try it out before adding other software.

The latest Microsoft security updates disable autoplay because of the vulnerability it exposes to that worm that's doing the rounds at the moment. Are you sure it's not the MS security updates you are wanting to reverse, rather than the temporary disabling that Creator does just while it's burning?

Hi Brendon, yhanks for the reply

The latest Microsoft security updates ...

As mentioned above, I'm running SP2. The system is not fully patched. We can discuss that issue elsewhere but that's not the issue here unless creator installed the patches.
