Burn DVD w/8,200 files?

daavidfost

Question

I'm trying to burn a DVD with Toast 6.1.1 that contains 8,200 jpeg files for a total of 3.6GB. I've tried in 10.3.9 and 10.4.6, but the wheel just keeps spinning. DiskWarrior, permissions fixed, trashed the preferences. Is this just too many files to put on one DVD?

Thanks for any insights.

Are you trying to burn this in the Data window? If so, which format did you choose? Did you click New Disc before dragging in the jpegs (or their folders)? At what point do you get the spinning wheel?

What's likely happening is there is a problem with one or more jpegs so that Toast can't check the file. As an experiment choose some different groups of the photos and select Save as Disc Image from the File menu. Does it work with some and not others?

Yes, in the Data window, Mac & PC format, I'm not sure where the "New Disc" is to click on, and I get the spinnning wheel either before or after the "Verifying Files" progress bar.

I'll try choosing different groups of them to test out.

Thanks very much for your response.
