Lots of frustration (justified!) but absolutely no information… If you actually had done “everything” and did it right, it would work… Or at least it should. Did you read through cdanteek’s post at the top and compare his pictures with your install? What is different? Now go back through it and take us with you step by step. bmwstu
Hi Jim: I inserted cd pluged in usb installed soft ware, gave me a problem with usb and i installed the update,i follwed the book / word for word , i pluged in all three cables red yellow white into video. and followed the next steps step by step.i have a toshiba video nicam stero video, and a toshiba p.c. Many Thanks Well that depends… If you are not writing VCD or SVCD not much point in capturing to such a low quality format, right? DV and DVD HQ are the only 2 worth using for capture. DV captures to a AVI file and is huge – 13 Gb for each hour of capture. Advantages are lossless uncompressed format – easy to edit. DVD HQ captures in mpeg2. Small file size – works in most cases but may overload a low end and mid range PCs during editing. And if re-rendered a few times will degrade. I have plenty of HD’s around here so all I use is the DV.
bmwstu
Hi Jim, Thanks, Last one , DVD SP and DVD LP would you recommend any of them ? Jim_Hardin
Hi Jim, Thanks, Last one , DVD SP and DVD LP would you recommend any of them ? NO! They are mpeg2 but at reduced quality which I why I didn’t bother with them before. Fact in video work – you can never make something better than the source! So you capture at the Highest Quality so you have the best source. If you are willing to sacrifice quality later to fit something onto disc you can do that. But if you start off low and then decide you want better quality, you have shot yourself in the foot because it isn’t going to happen. A 720 X 480 @ 7 mbps will never look any better no matter what you do.

Jim_Hardin
Hi Jim, I have another question for you please, Is it possible to edit a clip , by taking / cutting out a bit in the middle of it ? after you have put it on your p.c. Thanks... Absolutely!!! That is what an editor is for – VideoWave. There is so much Creator 2009 in V2D it will pay you to look in that forum under the How To topics and see what is available. When you see what you can do for $60 you will understand my enthusiasm for V2D!
