coonsanders
hi now an update...i did a nero clean tool uninstall and there were a couple of nero things on my computer.....so now im thinking i should uninstall roxio and reinstall it...what do u guys think? lenny
d_deweywright
hi let me say sorry for all this mess.....im really trying to give you what u ask 4....i have windows xp home edition version 2002 service pack 3 with a celeron r cpu 2.53ghz 1.00 gb of ram.the drive is song dvd rw dru.830a.ok i just made a cd and it burned it very well no problems on that score.....then i tried to play it with vlc and it said cant open cda files. That sort of sounds like you created a Data CD with files that you gave an extension of .CDA to. If you look at that CD in Windows Explorer, what do you see for file names and sizes? If it's a true Audio CD, you should see something like this: Track1.CDA 1K Track2.CDA 1K Because Windows doesn't properly display track sizes, it just knows that there are multiple tracks, (not their names) and gives them a default 1K size. Tracks are not the same as files, similar, but not the same. So, tell us what you see. You should be starting with .WAV files going into Music Disc Creator. ...im trying to record both 78s and cassette tapes into my computer.i want to seperate the tracks of the tunes from the cassette into seperate files and i did that so far.it took me a very long time to get the hang of nero.....there support sucks.but it had problems galore so i went to roxio and here i am.i have my turntable connected to my computer into the line in on my card....and my turntable connected to my amp. Okay, which is it? Is your turntable connected to your amp, or to your sound card? It should be connected to the Phono inputs on your amp, and then you should be taking a Tape-Out signal from your amp to the line-in on your sound card. So, take another look and clearly tell us how you're connecting your turntable to your PC. Your cassette deck can be connected directly to the line-in on your sound card if you want. You may want to consider a program like CDWAVE for the actual recording and splitting out of songs. Then use Music Disc Creator to write the files to CD. what else...ill check if i still have incd from nero in my computer...i am using audicity and imburn in my computer so there might be a conflick there.also this austrailian software called switch file converter.... hope that covers it.thanks sorry about all this... lenny

If you are convinced that you want to uninstall/reinstall, here are instructions for doing a full, clean uninstall.
coonsanders
ok let me break down my connections.......i have my turntable connected to my amp via the imputs 4 my turn table on the amps rear..then i have the outputs on the rear of the amp going into the line in on the computers sound card..ok i do see thoes cda track 1 and cda tracks when i go to play the tracks with vlc and why they wont play...i made a cd as i said before with the music disc creater.as i put them into the area that shows the songs i added to make the cd i noticed the files were at that point at least wav files.something might be happening from that point on...just not sure what though...o yea i have my cassette deck connected right into the line in on the computer... lenny let me add that the cd i made would not play in my cd player..it said "no disc"when i inserted it into my player

Otherwise, your connections sound like they're all correct. Oh, one more question, did you use a CD-R (write once), or CD-RW (erasable) disc? You may have to click on the "Views" button and change your view to "Details". It should look like this (I don't have an Audio CD here to use as an example):
bimicher
hi first i use cdr cd blanks...what are the file sizes do i see when i look at the disc in windows explorer?im not following u at this point how do u mean? lenny This is what the track list of an audio CD looks like when viewed through Windows Explorer. Could you please use some proper "grammar" in your post. Sentences without starting capitals, using text messaging etc makes it difficult to figure out what you are trying to say. Here's a click-by-click way to get what we're asking, I'll assume your CD is in your D: drive, you'll have to select the proper drive. Right-click on the "Start" button and select "Explorer". That opens Windows Explorer. At the top of Windows Explorer left-click on "View" and select "Details". Click on the D: drive (or whatever drive your CD is in). You should be able to see the size reported for each track, which, if it is an Audio CD, should be reported as 1K.

d_deweywright
hi Dewy Im using Internet Explorer 7 lenny Okay... read this very carefully... you need to open Windows Explorer not Internet Explorer! We want to look at stuff on your computer, not on the Internet. Did you even try to read what I wrote before? It gave you explicit instructions on how to do what we want. I've added some appropriate emphasis in the previous message. Go back, try it again.

Looks like it's time to reinstall Windows XP. "Explore" should be part of that list. But, going through "My Computer" on your desktop should work just as well. lynn98109
You need to LEFT CLICK on the Start button, NOT right-click. I think you need a computer-savvy friend to help you, because you don't seem to know enough about a computer to give useful informtion. I suspect the problem is not that EMC 9 is malfunctioning, but that you don't know what it is you are trying to capture or how to burn an Audio CD. (An Audio CD is done in one session, not one track at a time.) Lynn

d_deweywright
No idea, you have given no information other then my car won't start. If you want somebody to help you, you will have to supply some information. Start with things like, what type of CD you're trying to create, Audio or Data, and what part of the application you're trying to write with, Creator Classic, directly from the EMC9 "Home" page... What version of Windows? What make and model of drive? What brand of blank disc? Has it worked properly in the past, and what might have changed since then? That sort of information will get us started.

This will be the 41st post on this subject, and we are no farther ahead from your original post. Would it be possible for you to get a friend/neighbor/co-worker/relative, somebody that has some basic computer knowledge that can assist you with this problem. Obviously you are lacking in this department, as you can't even find Windows Explorer. You need help, and we are getting nowhere with you on this forum. Brendon
You still haven't given the information that's needed. Are you saying "it keeps asking me for new cds" because you are closing the disc after recording and the program wants a fresh CD each time you go to record ?? OR Are you saying "it keeps asking me for new cds" because your drive won't recognize the presence of a fresh CD inserted and keeps demanding that you insert one ?? OR Neither of the above - in which case please explain further before we have to get out Big Jim's crystal ball.
