Changing Overlay Duration?

MJHartsough

Question

I'm just starting to experiment with the Menu Overlay feature in EMC10.

I have a 14 second MPG I want to use as an overlay, but MyDVD cuts it off at 5 seconds.

Is there anyway I can change this, or is the Overlay restricted to a 5 second length?

Also, while trying to follow the instructions in the "Help" menu, I've discovered that I can't get MyDVD to enter the "Timeline" view. The selection is greyed-out.

Help?

Thanks,

Mike

To get to the timeline view, select the movie and then select "edit Movie". You will then see the SToryline and Timeline options.

If you are planning to do any editing you should really start in Videowave since that is the program for editing etc. myDVD is designed for creating the menus, chapters and burning

I have never used the "Overlay Menu" option nor have I ever seen a post on that feature.

Some menus have an overlay window predefined. You can choose what to put into that window, either one of the movies from the menu, a jpg, or mpeg, etc.

If you leave it at the default, it often (for me anyways), just shows the opening "title" panel from my movies - kind of boring.

So lately I've been putting in a select scene from the movie that I have edited into its own mpg.

But this morning I discovered that the overlay appears to be predefined to loop after 5 seconds.

I'm hoping there's some way I can override this so that it loops at the end of the "clip", instead of in the middle.

Thanks,

Mike
