Burn Iphoto Slideshow

Kentsj

Question

Is it possible to import a iPhoto slildeshow to toast for burning to a DVD? If so where might I find that work flow?

Also, are there any video tutorials for how to use Toast. If so where are those. The Toast Help is terse and assumes to much, leaving me questioning and confused.

Thanks

Kent

A 140-page user guide is terse? I posted a link at the top of this forum to some tutorials. Also check the knowledgebase articles in the main support page by searching for articles relating to Toast.

As for the iPhoto slide show, that needs to be saved as a movie file before being added to Toast. Do this by choosing Export in the iPhoto File menu and then click the Slideshow tab. Choose the resolution you want for export. This file now can be added to the Toast Video window with DVD video selected as the format to burn for playback on video DVD players.

I agree with you that it takes a fair amount of trial and error to figure out how to get Toast to do what you want with any specific project. The iPhoto slide show export is not described in the Toast guide because that's an iPhoto process that has to happen before it can be used in Toast. To respond to your post I had to go into iPhoto and do some experimenting in order to find a way to export the slide show as a movie file. It wasn't very intuitive because I think Apple should have put it in the Share menu.

The truth that a 140-page guide is terse with how to do any one thing is an indicator of the amazing number of things Toast can do. I've suggested to Roxio that they do some video tutorials for new users. They recently posted one and I hope there will be more.

Thanks for your understanding. It is daunting for an old guy to try and learn a new trick. When the directions are incomplete it make a difficult task frustrating.

I appreciate your efforts in answering questions.

Enjoy

Thanks for the response. Are those slide show directions found in the user guide?

Yes in my opinion the user's guide is incomplete and assuming, terse. If a person knows the program then I am sure they are just fine but then a knowledgeable person would not need the user guide.

Thank you for the tip as to where to find "the Toast 10 Bundle Guide". The title wasn't obvious as to what it contained.

I have found that Roxio assumes to much for it's new users. The web site requires a detectives mentality to negotiate.

Sorry that I am having trouble understanding the flow of things but to me things are not straight forward.

Enjoy
