Vhs-dvd When You Have Creator 2009

lennich

Question

I asked sales what I should order advising them I had Creator 9. Answer was order vhs-dvd . I did installed it & what a mess. I then tried to uninstall creator 9 .Went to the control panel but it doesn't even show in programs and features .Asked help & they gave me a long write up where I even had to enter my registry to take the program out. What a mess.

I have now installed vhs-dvd & done one disc .It worked . Do I need SP2 ????I just bought this program .

My opinion---it needs a lot of work before it is right .It causes to many problems ....

How can I be sure that creator 9 is all out now ?? Len

If you told them you had “Creator 9” you created your own problem!!!

V2D is fully compatible with ‘Creator 9’, however you don’t have ‘Creator 9’, you have Creator 2009 – big difference!

V2D is based on Creator 2009 so there is overwriting going on and the result is non working software.

This why the Big Card was in the box telling you not to do it  Of course naming a new product with a name so close to an old one is just plain silly and bound to lead to confussion!

The only recourse at this point is a Clean Install – Link

If you followed the Clean Install process precisely that Jim pointed to, then you have removed all traces of Creator 2009.

If you had given the sales person the correct information, that you had Creator 2009 [not Creator 9], I would have thought they would have told you you did not need Easy VHS to DVD [the software]. It is based on Creator 2009 but has less in the Suite.

If you purchased it thru them as a download, I would consider returning it for a refund and going back to Creator 2009 with it's fuller set of functions and features. That's what I would do if it were me.

If all you were trying to get out of it was the USB capture device, then just get that separately. It works with both products the same.

Just for future FYI:

Creator 2009 vs Creator 9

[Please do not call Creator 2009 Creator 9, it confuses the product with Easy Media Creator 9, which is 2 versions older and NOT the same product]

*************

These are the Creator and Easy Media Creator products that have been released, with the most current at the top.

Creator 2009 [technical v11] - (Creator 2009)

Easy Media Creator 10 - (EMC 10)

Easy Media Creator 9 [not the same as Creator 2009] - (EMC 9)

Easy Media Creator 8 - (EMC 8)

Easy Media Creator 7.5 - (EMC 7.5)

Easy Media Creator 7 - (EMC 7)
