Usb Audio Recognized But Not Input Choice

RE59

Question

I am using Roxio Creator 2009 Ultimate which is suppose to record directly from USB turn table. The program sees the USB Audio device but the input only has microphone in no other choice. I can not hear the audio nor does it record properly onto hard drive. I checked all the advance settings to the best that I know. What can be wrong. I am on Windows XP and downloaded the latest upgrades to the Roxio program. I can hear the USB turntable when I use Audacity and record it.

The original release of Creator 2009 did NOT have this feature. This features was added later in Service Pack 3. The latest update is Service Pack 4 - click here to download.

Also most turntables need a preamp.

I have already loaded service pack 4. I purchased the CD creator 2009 Ultimate and is shows the program recording the music but I can not hear the music even if I record it and than play it back. I have a USB turntable which has its own preamp. It is the ION USB Archiver. Like I said previous I can play and hear my music in another program that came with the turntable using Audacity with no problem. Can you please help me figure this out. Being able to use the USB turntable by itself is the reason I purchase the upgrade to this program so I could do everything all in one program.

Others have had problems with that turntable (and certain USB microphones). My suggestion is to contact ION and search thse forums for "ION turntable" with quotes. ION won't work because the search engine needs more than 3 letters. I don't remember anyone coming back from a thread with a solution.

You may be stuck with two programs. Yes, Roxio is aware of this but I don't know if they plan to address a fix.

:) Thanks to all those that replied. Wanted to let you know I don't know what happened, but I can record to the hard drive. The program does recognize the USB turn table you just can not hear the music as it records. So be sure you know where you are placing your music. Under Advanced, Options, General, Temporary Files (save to locations), give the recording a file name. I was able to record, spruce up and save to a good file the music I recorded off the USB turn table.

Thanks for telling us that. I'll remember for the next time. :)
