Burning Of Mp3's To Play On Cd Player In An Order I Specify

Hi

Can anyone help me?

I want to burn MP3' s on to a CD randomly without having to number all of them has this would take for ever. When I make a play list it works on my PC but it's not random on my CD Player.

Any help would be great. I'm using Creator 2009

I want to burn MP3's in a random order on to the CD, so when i play them back on a player the are not in alphabetical order of either artist or song once burned to CD. Once burned on to the CD they will then play in that random order

Hi cdanteek,

The file system I used was joliet.

When I do a straight burn to cd that works fine but the songs are in alphabetical order, when trying to make a randomised cd that is the problem. I have tried the way skinis showed me and by making playlists in wmp. Both are fine for playing on the pc but the wmp playlist was still in alphabetical order when played on cd player and with Create Music Disc Projects it will not play on cd player or dvd player.

Music-Audio> Create Music Disc Projects> mp3/wma discs> Project Settings (on the left).

 

Your continued use of the word ramdom is what is confusing people. Why don't you just say "In the order I selected"?

Perhaps it is your player(s). I don't remember anyone else complaining about the issue.

 

From the help menu:

 

" Presentation Formats: Affects the order in which the audio files play. Different devices support different formats, so you should select as many formats as possible. "

and

" Rename tracks to ensure playback order: Check this box to automatically rename the tracks so that they will play back in the correct order even on players that do not support playlists.

 

Advanced: Select the File System to use for your project. If you are not sure what settings to choose, refer to your MP3 player documentation."

I just find it strange that they will play when I just burn a CD in the normal way but not when I try the other way. I don't know enough about different formats and what will play and what will not. I think I'll just have to take a deep breath and number all the tracks.

Yes Jim I did as I replied to him. I don't want the CD to always play randomly every time I play the CD. I want to burn a random CD and then play the tracks in the random order that I selected as Skinis says, not in alphabetical order of either artist or song in a CD Player. sorry if I caused any confusion

Tried that and I got message can't play wrong disc, Looked at files and they are in mp3 format and my player plays mp3s

the CD plays fine on the pc in the order that I burned the CD

Are you burning to CD-RW? If so, your player may not play it. Since it played on the computer, it was probably made correctly. If you are using a CD-RW, use a regular CD (they are cheap) and take it to another mp3 player to see if it will work.

 

What brand of blank media? If store brand or Memorex, try again after you buy something that will work more than half the time.

I managed to sort the problem. I went back into Project settings in MP3/WMA and unticked "Convert all to:" and ticked "keep native audio file format". Burned the CD and it works on the CD Player and both DVD Players. Why it will work that way and not the other is a mystery, but I'm not complaining. I'd just like to say a big thank you to every one who helped.

If you want your tracks to play in random[never in the same order twice] order, you'll need a player which has a Random function built-in. You can't burn a disc which will play randomly.

 

It doesn't matter how you arrange the tracks or files on your disc, once they're burned they are fixed, and will always play in the same order on your player unless the player can randomize its selection.

 

You don't mean you want your MP3s to play in a particular order [non-random] without numbering them, do you?
