Question

Hi all! I think the link I've copied above is the roxio guru telling me exactlyyyy how to install this product. I've done exactly as the guide (that came with it) says to, I've doine as the Guru (sorry, his name was Jim maybe?..) says to and I meet all the sys requirements so what the heck!? NOTHING. The install completes even but is nowhere to be found! It's not in my install/uninstall programs menus, not my start menu, no icon, nothing! I've doine this several times. I've done it all the right way and then even powered down and back up, nothing! AFTER it tells me the driver isnt found (while the capture device and CD are still connected/in the PC. This is a new Vista machine (so I guess yet again-serves me right)....can anyone pls help or give me some suggestions about what might be causing this and how to fix it?? Do I just need another disc where I can use my own product key (this was brand sealed box btw)...how can I go about getting another install disc..?...ughhh ALWAYSSSSS somethingggggg...I'm SO tired of every time I buy or try something new, yet ANOTHER "project" arises, then usually another..can't anything just work and work right!? I'm ranting I know but this has all been since buying VISTA (HUGE mistake)....

Please help technical peeps!? :))

The post was from "cdanteek" btw, not "Jim". That linked post is extremely accurate as far as what you should see when installing VHStoDVD and all of the screen shots of the program itself. If you followed everything suggested in the link, did you get all of the similar screens ??? if not then the installation was probably not installed correctly.

I know how frustrating it is when an installation goes bad but a new "clean Install of the program might be warranted based on your problems. And if this was a retail boxed program (brand sealed box as you suggested) there should have been a program installation disk that came with it and with a particular "key" for that program which should be used during installation---and with the USB Capture Device inserted into a USB 2.0 port.

THANKS FRANK, I appreciate the reply but it doesn't help me any...like I said, I agree his post was perfet but the install goes perfectly smooth until it closes and Roxio is nowhere to be found. I dont 'it' or 'it's parts' to show up anywhereeeee in my sys so I dont make it past step 5. I just tried a Windows cleaner recommended by support-didn't work...then tried a new user acct - still nothing...waiting on another suggestion...
