Can't Install Emc Dsuite 10

tbones2

Question

Here goes: I am frustrated and feel like an idiot. I bought EMC DS 10 a couple of months ago at Sam's Club for $99.98. I don't have a lot of free time so I put it aside on my desk with the the video capture device, manual, the cd and cut the ends of the box off to lay it flat on the desk to save space. I go to install it finally today and see that I need a license key. I look on the box (what is left of it, with missing ends) the CD sleeve, the capture device, the manual, and can find no License Key. (Did I cut it off the end of the box and throw it away? I didn't think I was that stupid and I don't remember seeing it. Roxio says on their website, "If you still cannot find your CD-Key after following the steps above, Roxio can not supply you with a new CD-Key/Serial Number." This is not gonna cut it for me. I have the Sales Slip (Receipt), the original CD, manual, etc. Where is my license key? Is there any reasonable solution to this mess? I just want to install and use this program. I have my kids videos to digitize. Please Help.

CD,

The problem was that I hadn't installed it yet and lost the jacket before I could register it.

Brendon,

Don't rub it in, I feel bad enough already.

Actually, though, there is a happy ending here. After searching diligently this morning I have LOCATED the original CD sleeve with the beautiful 17 digit KEY right on the back.

I think after hearing this story however, you guys are probably going to kick me out of the club for being an embarrassement to the ROXIO name. Sorry. but I truly do appreciate all the help.

P.S.

I am going to register it now before this happens again. I learned.

Tbones2,

Forgive me, I wasn't wanting to be really mean. :)

It's excellent that you've located the key, and I thank you for coming back and letting us know. You've brightened up my day, and you're welcome around here at any time.

Brendon

It should be on the back of the white paper DVD disc sleeve that the Program & Content install disc is in. That's where mine is located. It shouldn't have been on the box itself. If it's not there, then your only recourse would be to see if Sam's would let you exchange it for a new set of discs.

Thanks Larry. I must have mislaid the original White CD Sleeve it came in during my "on again, off again" install and put the CD in a generic white sleeve I had (I have a box of 500 blanks in my office).

I am really annoyed at myself. Maybe I will just upgrade to Creator 2009 and then I know the original cd case will show up in some pile somewhere in one of my offices.

I wish there was a better system to retrieve these keys that would protect buyers and manufacturers.

tim/tbones2 :)
