Recompression Erorr?

Dr_VanNostren10

Question

So I just got Toast 10 and installed it and everything seemed to be working fine, until I actually tried burning a DVD. I chose my VIDEO_TS folder and started the process. As soon as it starts up, I get an error saying "An error has occurred recompressing the video." Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Typically a problem like this can happen if the compression that's required is too great such as when trying to compress DVDs with several hours of content or with uncompressed PCM audio which results in not enough room available on the single-layer disc. If I know more about the source VIDEO_TS I may be able to guess what caused this error. I suggest testing with another source to see if the problem is just with the one you tried to compress.

Hi tsantee,

Thanks for getting back to me. I tried using a different VIDEO_TS folder and got the same error. I'm using Mac the Ripper to rip the DVD and that seems to go through fine. When I go to Toast, that's when I get the compression issues.

As long as you do a full disc extraction it should work assuming this isn't one of those discs that have more than about three hours of video on it.

I am getting the same "An error has occured recompressing the video" message. I have tried three different disks and two different rippers. I still get the same message.

Even when I try to save as a disk image, I get the same error. the disk files range between 5 to 6 GB in size if that helps?

Any help would bre greatly appreciated.
