Missing Files?

tkk.72

Question

Hi! I am new to this forum and REALLY need some help! I have created a slide show of pictures and videos using Easy Media Creator 2009. I was almost finished with the project (which has to be done today by 4:00 pm MST) and was placing some finishing touches when the program froze. GRRR...Frustrating! But, I had just saved my work so I was not too worried about loosing any of my work. I restarted the computer and clicked on "edit movie" and I got the following error message . . . all missing files must be resolved before editing the production. The problem is, that I have not changed ANYTHING since I restarted the computer. The files are all still in the folder right where I left them before I restarted the computer. I am in a panic because this has to be finished ASAP! If anyone can help me I would GREATLY appreciate it! Thanks! :)

Usually it will allow you to Browse to the folder where they are and all is settled. Didn’t it do that?

If not it could be corrupted. You may have to clear Proxy files – but you didn’t tell us what program you are using and Creator 2009 has 35 programs in it! Usually it is in Tools – Options.

Sorry... I am new to this whole thing. I am using My DVD 9. I can see where it allows you to browse for missing files. When I open the program it only opens the menu. I can see the part of the video that I want to open and I try to edit the movie but it will not open. I can see in the tools bar where it says browse for missing files but it only gives me the option to browse the menu and says .... no missing files were detected in the current production. Does that help explain what is going on better?

MyDVD 9 was last produced 2 years ago… You have MyDVD Build 111b10e~~~ I know this but there are different answers for different versions and references to old software will confuse others who may be watching.

Time is running out for you so I hope you went ahead and recreated your project. As I said it appears corrupt and I doubt you can fix it!

Delete the Proxy files as I indicated and find the Project Files (usually in My Video).

There are 2 Project files – one with a .dmsm extension and one with a .dat extension.

Delete the .dat file – reboot and see what happens.

Only one or 2 people have ever had this happen and none of the Gurus here have ever seen this!

Let us know how you make out.
