When I Uninstalled Roxio, My Cd/dvd Drivers Dissappeared!

Bender Rodriguez

Question

I went to use the Easy CD & DVD Burning program today and Windows said that it could not find the program. So I uninstalled it using the REVO Uninstaller which also searches for leftover Registry files. When I restarted my computer, my drives didn't appear in My Computer. I checked the Device Manager and it said that the drivers were either missing or corrupted. I have a TSSTcorp TS-H352C DVD-Rom and a HP DVD Writer 1040i. I read on another forum that the Registry cleaner deleted the drivers, but since both were uninstalled I can't reinstall Roxio (which I have on a CD).

I looked at both the DELL and HP websites and the only drivers they have are firmware upgrades that will only work if the drives appear in My Computer.

If I could download the program again, it would be great.

Thanks.

The PX engine doesn't affect Drag to Disc, it's a totally different writing system.

If you really really want Drag to Disc despite all its known disadvantages and dangers, you could try applying the Dell patch which is linked at the bottom of this pinned post.. It should work okay despite you not having a Dell machine, and if worst comes to worst another clean install will remove it all.

It's not really that important that Drag to Disk works, I'm just afraid that other programs won't work when I try to use them. Like now iTunes can't burn, but it's alright since I use Roxio to burn my CDs anyway. The only problem is an annoying notification when I start iTunes. But no biggie.

Thanks for all of your help!

Glad it's not important to use D2D. It has a lot of 'fishhooks'.

As for iTunes, you'll often get conflict when you install more than one disc burner. They tend to trample on each other unless they've been rather carefully written. It's an awkward fact of life, that one.
