Installing "EMC 9 Suite" has nothing to do with closing a disc It does when I am burning the disk with the Roxio application...I went to my pictures, opened a file selected all clicked burn....it put all the filesinto roxio and said it was copying all 147 pictures...then when it gave me an otion to leave the disk open or close it so that any computer without roxio could view it ,,,,I chose that option and it gave me an error message that said exactley"Railed to prepare media for CD-Rom or DVD-Rom compatibility".....Is that enough information? You used Drag to Disc, a packet writing software, to burn those files, to a CD or DVD. Don't use that program. Use Creator Classic, instead, and you will not have a problem closing the disc, plus, it is a safer way to backup your important files. Creator Classic closes the disc, by default. If you want to burn more data to the same disc later, when you click on Burn, uncheck the Read Only box.

Thanks..it worked once then when I tried to do a second burn the okay option is not available....only help and cancel. I'm getting so frustrated....I'm not a techie by any means and getting everything to be compatable on this new vista is a drain....
Brendon
Once the disc has been closed, you can't EVER burn to it again. You must leave the Read Only box unchecked whenever you are burning to a disc that you want to add data to at a later time.
Jim_Hardin
Quite a bit of info in the Help file, once you know what to look for You have to expand the Options to see what they are. In this pic, it is set to the Benq drive which contains a Read Only disc with data on it. But note that there is a open disc in the Sony that could be used:
