Don't plug and burn, especially with a laptop. One little hiccup, and you have a coaster. Capture the video, to your hard drive, then burn it to a DVD. So is there a way to capture the audio and video from my camcorder or a VCR with EMC10? I am trying to preserve my old family videos.

If the video camera uses miniDV tapes, capture via firewire. For capturing, from the VCR, you will need a capture card, or a device like the Roxio USB Capture Device. BTW, no fix is needed for the plug and burn feature. It is mainly the computer, and luck, to get it done. I did the plug and burn, once, just to see if it would work for my computer, and it did. I was lucky that nothing went wrong, along the way. I probably won't plug and burn again.
