BURNING SPEEDS FOR PLUG AND BURN

crabbman

Question

LP,SP.HIGH DEFINITION,CHOICES.

Seems to me the only way to go is High Definiton.

The SP,and LP is not very good quality and not real fun to look at.

The problem with High Definition is you need at least two 4.7 gig DVD 'S to record one HI-8 Tape.

OR if you have a Double layer player like I have (Plextor PX-0840U) you could use one DVD.

I have not tried this as yet. I am still learning.

I find Creator 2009 S.E. is alot of work, alot of studying, learning. I have already given up on CINEPLAYER,a junky player and am using the VLC PLAYER.

I cant give up on Creator as yet for there is nothing on the market to replace.Or to replace would mean I would have to buy several software products. NO THANKS.

Well that is all for now.

Good day

What you are calling High Definition is called HQ (High Quality). BlueRay is High Definition.

What you call a problem is actually the DVD standard: 60 minutes of HQ video on a standard 4.7GB DVD.

You could try to burn 2 hours to an iso image file and then use Video Copy and Convert to burn that image file to a standard DVD. VCC does an excellent job of transcoding to "squeeze" 2 hours on a DVD.

Thank you,Digital Guru.

Like I said,I am still learning.

I am not sure how one does this change file to ISO image and then use VCC to convert to a standard DVD.?

But I am willing to try since getting two hurs of my HI-8 tapes onto a DVD is really a Great thing.

How would I do this?

Thank you, Digital Guru.

Steve & Jess left some pretty good info in the V9 Tips & Tricks:

Making ISO’s:

http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=15366

Burning ISO’s

http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=20394

(in step 5, 6 & 7, just Burn to disc)

I recommend you get a disc or 2 or DVD RW so you can experiment. Do one a HQ but only 1 hour long.

Do the other at HQ/ISO/Video Copy & Convert with 2 hours on it.

You will see how much you are sacrificing just to save a 30¢ disk…

PS: how about trimming down that bloated laundry list you have in your signature.

Look at what other people have in their sig.

Most important: Computer Make/model, CPU, Operating system (including SP level), RAM

Video card or graphics adapter, Hard Disk drivers, burners, Roxio version
