Burning a slideshow

Skykendall

Question

I have been trying to burn a slideshow, which I made with Roxio Creator 2009 ultimate, as a Windows media/video file. I have only been successful in burning it as a DMSS suffix which does not allow me to view it on my computer or put it on YouTube so that other family members can watch it.

A friend of my son's was able to do this on my computer and I have a copy of his slideshow on a CD. I can watch his CD on my computer and it can easily be the uploaded onto YouTube. Unfortunately he is now in Afghanistan and I am unable to recruit his assistance.

I would greatly appreciate if someone could help me out with this; Roxio seems unwilling to do so.

Thanks

That file extension is the extension from creating a video project with the Slideshow Assistant, which isn't a good program to use. VideoWave is a better option.

But to aid you, that file extension is not a video file, only a set of instructions for what you want the software to do, when you burn it to a DVD compliant movie. Open MyDVD, bring in your .dmss file, and burn it to a DVD.

... or if you just want to upload it to YouTube, go to the "Output As" icon above the preview window in Video Wave and output it in a format that YouTube will handle.

In Creator 2009, go to the last item on the Home page titled "Online" Go through all the stuff that opens and select "Share Video." That opens a portal to You Tube.

BTW, if you click on share photos, you get upload up to 24 images to share via a lite version of "PhotoShow" You can add titles, music choice, transitions, themes, etc. This is good if you just want to share a quack slide show. It is fast but limited with what you can do. You can select or tell people where they can view it. It will also make an mp4 file for you.
