How do I get the original picture or video back after burning it onto a DVD if I deleted the orginal jpeg etc file?

Question

How do I get the original pictures or video back after burning it onto a DVD if I deleted the original jpeg, avi file and all I have is the Roxio My DVD Project file? I used videowave to make the DVD and I am using Creator 2009. I would like to delete the pictures and videos after I put them on a DVD to save space on my computer but do not want to lose the ability to print each picture later on if I want to. Can Roxio do this? <_<

Thanks for your help Judy

You will get neither the pictures, nor the video files back, if you made a MyDVD video project out of them and did not back up the original files to a DVD, separately.

You can go through a difficult process of getting the pictures back, but they will be of extremely low quality.

The best bet is to backup your original files to another hard drive, or to DVDs, or both. I do both.

Like Bruce said, once you delete the source pictures, avi, etc they are gone :( No program can bring them back. You should always backup your source files to a DVD or hard drive - you ever know when to you want to get a print of a photo.

The only possibility would be if you have not cleared the Recycle Bin since you did the delete. You might be able to restore them from there.

The project file is now useless and you might as well delete that too
