Analog Capture Hangs

Just purchased a Sony Vaio Pentium D desktop with Windows Meida Center and 1 gig of Ram. It has a Video Capture Card installed with component line in's....and has Click to DVD installed by Sony.

I have installed EMC7.5 and cant get it to load into it's "Capture" mode...it just hangs when I click on Smart Capture...so I am stuck..It just cant seem to get to the step where it will begin capture.

Any thoughts???

Did your Sony come with software to capture from the card (other than Roxio)?

It's possible that the capture card will only work with the software that came with the Sony Vaio. I don't know about that particular Vaio model, but that has happened with older Vaios.

Can you capture from the card using Windows Movie Maker?

Once you've captured the video, you should be able to use it in EMC7. I'd recommend trying to capture a few minutes of video and then see if it will work in EMC7.
