hby
Here are the details: 1. selected Video Capture 2. selected Video in Roxio Media Import 3. in select a device or souce I selected my DVD - Optiacr DVD+RW AD-7640A (E:) with DVD This is when the Runtime error appears The DVD plays just fine. The DVD has several events I recorded. As I said I performed this process a couple of weeks ago with sucees. I would select one of the events to capture to harddrive as mpeg. The only thing I can think change is I installed Vista SP2 a couple of days ago. Roxio update says I'm current I do appreciate any suggestions/help. Thanks........... Jim_Hardin
Thanks for the details, that really does make it clear! To sugarcoat it a little, that indicates the program is breaking at that point and you will probably need to do the Clean Install… If you want to try a couple of things before doing that, here are 2: Try a different DVD - even a commercial movie just to see if crashes Or Copy the VIDEO_TS folder from the DVD to your HDD. Then use VideoWave and point it to any of the files in that folder when you Add Photo/Video… If that works it still comes down to Media Import not working and a Clean Install needed… Vista XP

Program: ... 2009 Special Edition\Media Import11\Media Capture11.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusal way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There is no need to use capture for "importing" from DVDs. Just copy the Videp_TS folder to your hard drive. It would also help if you were to supply some more information such as what you want to do with the video, what are your system specs, especially video card. hby
Hi, I'm capturing recorded events (into mpg) for later DVD creation. I did this last month. I even tried a recording I captured then. Last week I did put on Vista SP2. Wonder if it could be the problem. I'm using a Dell XPS M1530 w/Vista Home Premium w/ 4GB of memory. Display adapter is NVIDIA Ge Force 8600M GT Thanks... hby
My problems keep adding up. Per Roxio's 'clean install' for Creator 2009 for Vista I do not know where to find start->run to type MSCONFIG so I went to step 2 and uninstalled Roxio Creator 2009. Now step 3 calls for download of Windows installer cleanup utility. I receive the following Windows script host error when selecting Run to msicuu2.exe . I tried saving to harddrive and clicking to run....same error... Scrip: C:\Users\H\AppData\Local\Temp\IXP000.TMP\StartMsi.vbs Line: 17 Char: 1 Error: Permission denied Code: 800A0046 Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error My account has Administrative power. I signed on to the Administrative account and received the same error. Here's this runtime error again. Could Vista SP2 be a factor? How can I back off SP2 and try? Thanks................ Big_Dave
VISTA SP2 is not a factor. You need to following the clean installation procedure and not skip any steps. Boot into safe mode and do the clean install and then apply Creator SP4.
Jim_Hardin
Print out the Clean Install procedures for Vista, if you haven’t done so already. Start Run is the command line just above the Start Button in Vista. I would re-download the MS Cleanup – I have never heard of it throwing an error. As Dave mentioned, Vista SP2 is not causing any problems. If you can not get the MS program to work, don’t get too upset. I have done some bad install cleanups without it. Just better if you can. My Car won’t start, what’s wrong? More information please… What is the make and model? I used to drive it but now I can’t. I put a new air fresher in it. That is what you have said up to this point When you provide all of the details you are leaving out, be might be able to help. The hardware is a start but the step by step details is where the answer is hiding.

You can't skip the msconfig step! A search in this forum would show you how to do it: Here are the instructions from a post: For Windows Vista: Click on the Vista start icon in the bottom left corner of your screen. Type MSCONFIG in the search box and then either press enter on your keyboard or double-click on the MSCONFIG program that appears in the search results. As far as the user interface, have you ever seen any MS Windows version that got better??? Only one I liked was from Win3.0 to Win95 But it isn't hard in Vista - it is the only box on the screen, type in it!
Big_Dave
Right mouse click on the Start button and select properties. Then select Classic Start Menu and then Customize. Find the Run command box and check it. Now the Run command will show up under the Start button menu. You can also add the Run Command using the same similar procedure without using Classic menu
