missing or wrong type of files

drazek

Question

very frustrated

transferred all my photos and videos to a roxio project just to find out it won't burn them all to a dvd

i'm using creator DE

i'm getting "the following files could not be recorded to your disc. do you want to continue?"

when i click 'explain' it gives me generic 'Missing or wrong type of files' reasons

my files are all good - they're typical jpg or avi that play anywhere

is it possible to go around this issue? .. and if not, how can i transfer all the files from my '.roxio' project file back to hard drive?

thank you

There is no such program as "Creator DE", please give the correct, full name of the program you are using.

The "DE" usually indicates that it is a Dell OEM version which generally is a limited version of a full retail package with severl features crippled or missing.

I don't know what you mean by "transfer all the files from my '.roxio' project file back to hard drive?" Your original files were never moved by Roxio from their original location and will still be there unless you moved them or deleted them. None of the various Roxio program contain any of the source files in the project file and none of the photo or video files are altered in any way by the Roxio program

The DE typically stands dor "Dell Edition" which is an OEM limited one typically.

So if those AVI files are Divx, or aontain AC3 audio, that is probably why they will not work. Most OEM versions do not work with those types.

P.S. .AVI is just a 'container', and the actual video format could be one of a number of ones. The video format is what really matters, not just the file extension.
