No desktop Icon after installation

Pfred163

Question

Running XP sp3. Installed Creator 2009 Ultimate. No icon on desktop for it. Uninstalled, cleaned registry, re-installed, did update to Creator SP4. Still no icon. I haven't found a file to run to get the startup screen. I looked all over, including Roxio Central 4. Found launch.exe under plugins, tried to run it. Nothing happens. Any ideas as to my next attempt?

Thanks,

Paul

Are you having any issues with the Microsoft Framework.NET? Creator 2009 needs v 3.5 WITHOUT SP1.

I was getting a setup error for MS Framework .NET whenever I would try to install Creator 2009. The install looked like it continued, but when it was done there were no icons, no start menu items, and not nearly enough files were copied to the Roxio directory. The only thing that made it work was to make sure that Framework .NET 3.5 WITHOUT SP1 was installed before trying to install Creator 2009.

Hope this helps.
