thanks, i have tried to burn image file first and it will burn it into file but when i try to burn it to a dvd i gives me message error "cannot write medium-incompatible format-illegal request" and i have tried dvd builder and yes dvd builder does work but when i try to burn to dvd it shuts down roxio completely

What EMC 7.0 component are you using to burn the image (iso) file to the DVD? You should be using DiscCopier to burn a iso file to a DVD.

i have an external burner its a pacific digital-toshiba sd-r5372, and yes i have checked for updates but it says no updates available at this time, and no none of the videos are copy protected i am actually able to burn them into a regular cd as a vcd but cant burn them into a dvd

How is that burner connected to the computer? Are you using a USB 2.0 port and is it on the front or back of the computer?

( I think you need to send an email to the tech support site for that DVD burner. If it won't burn anything, that's not necessarily the program's fault. How do you know that the burner is working properly? )

If you just want to make a dvd of the videos, you would use DVD Builder. I'm not sure what you're having problems with......does DVD Builder open? Do you get an error when burning to disc? What does the error say?

You should try to burn to an image file instead of direct to disc.

Also, before you 'brake' your burner, you might look into getting the full version of EMC since the version that ships with many drives is the lite version and won't allow you to do some things that I feel are necessary.

You also might want to check with the DVD burner manufacturer since EMC7 came with the burner.

If there are problems, they are usually the first ones to hear about the problems and frequently they will have a solution on their website... either as a FAQ or update.

It sounds like the program is not getting the correct informatin from the DVD burner. Have you checked for updates from the manufacturer's website?

What make and model of DVD burner do you have? Is it internal or external?

Are any of those music videos copy protected? The program will not copy those type of files.
