Burning TS folders/ message saying there's too much extra data?

tenderloin

Question

...and then it asks me to uncheck the option to include "extras" and I get a message saying that it is still too big because of the miscellaneous data (i guess that's how i would describe what it's telling me..

Now, even when I go in and manually uncheck each and every "extra", and try burn again, it just

gives me the same message! I have the 'compress to fit to disc' option checked, also went in and unchecked foreign languages, and changed the sound settings as it has suggested, but it's doesn't seem to want to give me a different message... any theories?

I suggest trashing the Toast plist and prefs files in your User>Library>Preferences folder and relaunching Toast. It may correct Toast's miscalculation.

If your source DVD has PCM audio there can be a problem compressing to fit a single-layer DVD because the audio takes up too much space on the disc. You might check if the audio is Dolby Digital (AC-3).

*sigh* well, i'll tell you exactly what it says.. "This DVD-ROM contains too much audio/and or DVD-ROM content.

Turn off the "include DVD-ROM content" option or choose Main audio only and try again.

I followed all of those instructions to a T and even did some more tweaking to eliminate extra data, and still it gives me the same message.. NOW WHAT?! Can't I just force it to compress?

Try this: make all the changes you can and then choose Save as Disc Image. When that's done choose the disc image using the Image File setting in the Copy window. Now see if it will burn to a single-layer DVD.
