Roxio Creator 2009 Ultimate

Question

Hello everyone!

I just purchased Roxio Creator 2009 Ultimate.

I have a desktop with Windows XP, and a laptop with Vista.

I installed the product on both machines with no installation error at all.

My issue is with XP, when I click on the Video-Movies tab on the left, the only option shown is Play Movies. While clicking the same tab on the laptop with Vista, I have a large array of choices.

I have sent this issue to customer support, and all they done was send me a link to a Clean Install, which I followed to the T and I have the same issue.

So anyone else have this problem?

Also I purchased the Easy VHS to DVD software, and according to the directions, if I have Ultimate I don't need to install the driver, just had to follow a link provided. Did that, but to use the product you are supposed to go into the Video-Movie tab and then click on other headings that I do not have on my desktop machine.

Yes I could use the Vista laptop to do what I need to, but I have over 3000 hrs of video that I have to convert to DVDs and I need to be pulling double duty if you know what I mean.

HELP ME please.

Well I would like to just use the Easy VHS to DVD on the laptop with Vista, and the Creator 2009 on the desktop with XP if only all the features would show up, as I described as being the problem.

Also, I justed installed the SP4 onto the Vista machine, but when I try to install it on the XP machine I get SOFTWARE NOT FOUND

ROXIO CREATOR 2009 COULD NOT BE LOCATED ON YOUR SYSTEM. RE-INSTALL ROXIO AND THEN RUN THIS PATCH AGAIN.

I uninstalled and reinstalled, tried it again, notta.

If your Home App selector is mostly blank and you cannot apply SP4 you don’t have a good install!!!

You must do the Clean Install to the letter! Actually the install portion should automatically inform you of updates and install SP4 at the end.

Only modification I would make in the process is to remove .NET 3.5 during the uninstall.

Get all of this done and running before worrying about the capture device driver!

As far as your lap, running V2D on that will be fine. But as Frank pointed out, you can't have both installed on the same PC!!!

One note of caution---C2009 and VHStoDVD are not compatible programs. So either use C2009 with it's own optional USB capture device--OR-- VHStoDVD with it's own included USB capture device. Also using either program be sure and update to the latest version SP.
