Plug and Burn

I am trying to put old VHS movies on DVD the movies seem to transfer over ok but the sound is horrible - if you can hear it at all... What does happen is that it picks up every noise in the room and not the sound from the tape... What am I doing wrong... Thanks for any help...

Obviously your audio setup is wrong since you seem to be picking up audio from a microphone. Have you read through some of the How to posts at the top of this forum?

everything seems to be hooked up right... i do have an extention on the usb cable from the capture device to the laptop... i'm using the rca cables to the video machine.... about 6 feet long... but all the colours are hooked up to the right plugins

Have you turned off the microphone on your Laptop? That is the only place where it can pck up the room noises.

 

BTW, read the post about Plug&Burn and why its not really recommended.

Ok... Thanks myguggi... read it... will try capture and see what happens... lol... have all weekend to play with it now
