No Recorders Listed in any Roxio Creator 2009 Programs

Rocko

Question

Anyone know why none of the Roxio Creator 2009 apps find my DVD recorders? I'm running the software on a new Dell Vista64 system. Besides the built-in DVD Recorder, I also hooked up an external DVD-R recorder via USB2. "My Computer" and all my other software sees and reads them, but Roxio doesn't. The support website only talks about CD Creator 5 & 6 not recognizing system drives. I sent emails to the support staff but it's been two days and no response. Any ideas. Thanks...

Hello Rocko,

Have you been doing anything that might disturb filters in the registry since you installed Creator 2009 ? That seems to be the most popular reason at the moment for Roxio programs not seeing your drives.

An easy way to check your filters is to download and install the free [and very useful] utility called ImgBurn, from imgburn.com.

If you click on Tools > Filter Driver Load order, you should see PxHelp20 as a 'Lower Class Filter'. If that isn't there, then that's your problem. A reinstall of Creator 2009 should restore the filter setting.
