Span Audio CDs

jeffrey_calhoun

Question

I bought this because I needed to split big files into mutiple cds. I was told this was automatic, but I get an error saying the source file was too big to fit on one CD. I am trying to burn an m4b (speech in Mac format) of about 1 GB onto two audio CDs'. How do I do this? If it is impossible for m4b, how about other formats? Could I convert to MP3 and do this, if so, how? I am at a total loss, everyone on this community is talking about data and DVD disks instead of audio CDs, and the help files say nothing on the subject. BTW, after I bought 9 directly from Roxio in October, I find out that 10 is out and I have to pay for an upgrade to 10!

Disc spanning is only available in the Data window. If you burn the audio file as a data disc Toast should split it across two CDs. However, these can only be played on a computer as they are not audio CDs.

If you need this to be in the Audio CD format you can use the Track Trim feature to set the stop point of the audio so it fits one disc and then set the start point of the audio at the same point to burn the second disc. Track trim is available by click and hold on the track's length. It does not affect the source audio file.
