Creator 2009 will not install at all.

Cay Cay

Question

I've been trying to install creator '09, but I get a message that says, "THE REQUEST COULD NOT BE PERFORMED BECAUSE OF AN I/O DEVICE ERROR." What does this mean? My computer meets all system requirements (at least I think so). How do I resolve this problem?

Have you had any recent problems with your cd/dvd drive lately? Can you try copying the install disc to your hard drive and running the setup from there?

That error is basically saying that it's unable to read the info on the disc. You should make sure your transfer mode is set to DMA. If you're not sure how to check this, you can look here.

I have checked the transfer mode. It is set to DMA. I don't know if there was a problem with the CD/DVD drive. This computer was given to me. I haven't had a problem loading anything else, except the Creator software. I can still play, rip, and burn music on the drive with no problem.

Copy the DVD contents to a folder on your hard drive and try the install from there.

What are your system specs? The Roxio listed specs are really a joke
