Closed Session Audio CDR burning

haken8

Question

Hi

Can anyone help as to how I can burn an audio CDr closed session disk? I am trying to do this for disks to play on a Cyrus XTSE transport but it wont play them. I can play these recordings on other CD players. The tracks are definately recorded as audio tracks so no problem there.

The Cyrus however will only play 'closed session' disks and I am sure thats where the problem lies. How do I therefore burn a closed session CDr

What application did you use to burn the disc? Unless you are using a RW, the disc should be closed after it is burned. What brand disc is it - Memorex and store brands have been known to have problems. Get some Verbatim or even better get some Taiyo Yuden from on on line seller.

Try making an image file from the audio project (c2d) and then copying that to a good disc. That helps with video but I'm not sure if you will see any improvement with audio.

You asked this same question about a month ago. Have you talked to Cyrus about the issue?

Closing the disc is not your problem.

Are you using the Music Disc Creator part of EMC 2009? If so, then you can be assured that the session and disc are both closed because the ability to create an "open session" Audio CD went away a couple versions ago. Most Audio CD players won't play a disc that isn't closed anyway, so if the discs are playing properly on other standard CD Players, then again, you can be very sure the disc is closed.
