Roxio VideoConvert has stopped working

TheCoolDude

Question

Hello there.

I'm running Vista X64 and whenever I try to do anything with Roxio Video Copy & Convert it give an error message Roxio VideoConvert has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. It sends an error report but never lets me know how to solve the issue.

I can load Roxio Video Copy & Convert and select my content, but once I do, that's when it crashes.

I can use any other part of Roxio Creator 2009 without issue.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi There.

Thanks for your suggestion. I have tried the uninstall and reinstall instructions but still no luck.

Perhaps I am not using the correct application here.

I am a former Nero user and have recently switched to Roxio. With Nero I was using Nero Recode and it worked perfectly for backing up my discs. I hoped that Roxio VideoConvert would be the equivalent to Recode.

Am I mistaken?

Thanks!

What exactly are you trying to do?

Hello.

On occasion I back up my DVDs for use when I travel. I use DVD Decrypter or Handbrake to get the content on my PC, then I used Nero Recode to shrink the content to a single layer DVD. Can I use Roxio as a replacement for Nero Recode?

Thanks in advance!

If those are commercial DVDs (why else would you use DVD Decrypter?), then Roxio will not touch them since it is illegal to make copies of them. Any discussion of any illegal copying process is not allowed in these boards.
