Capture Screen is Black

I was using Creator 2009 & Vista to capture video from JVC camera was working fine using a firewire. next time I tryed just a few mintues later the capture screen is black when it hit start the camera starts but there is nothing on the screen, it will not capture, what do I need to do

I also have Adobe Elements I get same thing there, camera works but screen is black, will not capture makes me think its a windows problem??

 

I have downloaded the roxio service pack, going to check directx next for fix

 

Look at Post #2 again. I don't think that it is a Windows problem, and if it is, you have a bigger problem than just seeing a black screen.

 

Either update your video card drivers, or if you did, and that caused your problem, roll back to previous drivers.

How do I update the video card driver? I check directx it is up todate

I checked the Video Driver went to there website, got an update, installed it & it nows works

Well I don't know what happened, was not at PC sence morning, try to capture again got the same black screen again, now what??

Do you still have the video drivers that you downloaded? If so, uninstall the video drivers, you have running right now, and reboot. After you reboot, install the new drivers again.

Just tryed that , still doesn't work?

did a clean uninstall of creator 2009 rebooted and installed same problem.

 

with not being able to capture in Adobe elements to it must be something else both worked before....

The first step would be finding out what you did, between the time it worked, and now, then correct the problem.

Try closing all programs and rebooting your PC.

I have rebooted & reinstalled Creator 2009, bought a new firewire still does not work
